TL;DR (human-readable)
You buy it once, it's yours. Your documents stay on your machine. If our servers are down, a paid license keeps working.
1. License grant
When you purchase TaskHolder, you receive a personal, perpetual license to install and use the app. The license covers your own machines (on a new one, sign in with the same account; there is nothing to deactivate) and never expires.
You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app itself. Everything you create with it is entirely yours.
Prompt sets are sold separately. A prompt set is a file you buy for your own use: edit it, adapt it, and use its prompts in your own work, including commercial work. You may not resell, republish, or redistribute the set itself — as a file or as its contents repackaged — to others.
2. Free trial
The trial gives you every feature for 14 days, with a free account and no payment details. When it ends, the app asks you to buy a license before you keep editing. Exporting your work stays available, and the Markdown files you imported stay on your own disk, readable with any editor.
3. Payment & refunds
We sell two things, and they have different refund rules. Both are one-time purchases processed by our payment partner; prices in other currencies follow the checkout display at time of purchase.
The app licence ($39). Since the 14-day trial is the full product, we encourage deciding before buying. Refunds are available only within 7 days of purchase: if something is genuinely wrong with your purchase, contact us within 7 days and we will make it right.
Prompt sets ($19) — non-refundable. A prompt set is a digital file (.json) delivered immediately on purchase. Once you have downloaded it, its contents are yours to keep, read, and copy, and that cannot be undone — so these purchases are final and we do not offer refunds or exchanges on them. You are shown this before you buy, and completing the purchase confirms you asked for immediate delivery and understood that.
This does not take away rights you have by law. Where your local consumer law grants a right of withdrawal for digital content, that right applies as written, and the exception above operates only to the extent the law allows. Nothing here limits our responsibility for a file that is faulty or not as described: if a prompt set fails to download, arrives damaged, or is materially not what this page described, tell us and we will replace it or refund it.
4. Updates
Updates released for TaskHolder are available to licensed users at no extra charge. There is no fixed update period, no renewal and no subscription.
Installing an update is up to you. The version you have keeps working; an update never disables anything you already have.
5. Fail-open policy
License validation is engineered fail-open: if our license server is unreachable, degraded, or permanently gone, validation passes and the app continues to work. Your license can never be revoked by an outage, and no server event can lock you out of your own tool or files.
6. Privacy & local data
Your plan documents never leave your machine. Your documents and projects stay in local files on your machine. The app goes online only for sign-in, license checks and update checks, and none of these carries the contents of your documents. Sign-in tokens are stored with your operating system's keychain.
Your account data (email, license status, purchase records) is stored with the processors listed in our Privacy Policy, which also documents the site's cookie use. The website sets no analytics or tracking cookies.
7. Warranty
TaskHolder is provided "as is." We work hard on file fidelity — unmodified lines export byte-identical on file-imported projects — but you should keep your plans under version control like any other important file. Liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license.
8. Accounts
A free account (Google sign-in or a one-time email code — no password) is required to start the trial and holds your license. One account per person; keep access to your sign-in email, since it is how a license is recovered or transferred.
Emails. Marketing email (TaskHolder updates, plus news and offers about our other products) is optional and is never a condition of your trial or license; you can turn it off anytime. We send service messages, such as sign-in codes, security notices and changes to these terms, regardless of that choice. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
You may delete your account yourself at any time from the account page. Deletion permanently removes your sign-in, license, download history, and preferences — a purchased license cannot be recovered after deletion. Your local files are yours and are unaffected. Accounts used for abuse (automated scraping of downloads, resale of licenses, attacks on the service) may be suspended.
